There has been no official statement from the Proconvert(formerly EDL Convert Pro 4) people that I'm aware of. Thank you for the correction! Do you happen to know whether ProConvert licensed the decryption, or if they figured it out themselves? Hopefully I've got most of my facts straight. If you or someone else can open the PT session, they can Save Session Copy and choose to save it in PT5 format, which is not encrypted and programs like AATranslator can read. The expensive product from SSL is one of the few (if not the only one) that does have that license, and even they only support up to PT7. PT6 and higher aren't likely to be supported by many/any companies, since those formats are encrypted and rely on licensing agreements to be executed with Digidesign, who may not WANT people to transfer away from PT. You won't be able to import plugins, as there are not necessarily any correlations between any RTAS/TDM plugins and VST. Also I think the demo is TOO limited, I won't know how good the program is if I can't even convert "one" session that does not exceed the limit(maybe implement this and after that your 4 clips limit goes into play?) before dropping the cash. I wish your program supported Pro Tools 8 sessions since its gonna be a while before I get stuff converted to PT5(how do you do this?). Does your program also transfer the effects?(like vsts/rtas counterparts). But I'm unable to open Pro Tools now, tried countless installs. I like the concept of AATranslator and seem the most likely way to get it done. Depending upon what you are trying to achieve will determine the best method for you. You will lose all automation, fades, etc, etc doing it this way.Įach method has its good & bad points and costs. Someone else can correct me on this point. Drag your audio files in to a Reaper session and as I recall if they are Broadcast wave files there is a way to align them properly in time in Reaper.
Get someone who owns a copy of (I'm assuming) PT7+ to save yur sessions as PT5 and use AATranslator to convert directly to Reaper RPP files.ģ. Get a copy of ProConvert and convert your sessions to a Samplitude EDLįrom memory you will lose your vol & pan automation, track vol & track panĢ.
